Growing our friendship with God is a spooky thing if you ask me. God, creator of the universe is my friend? Yes God is my friends, our friend. No matter what our childhood experiences are or where, the teenage phase and all of the rebelling we did, or as a grown up living with the decisions we have made and are making God is there with us, as our friend as long as we have chose Him to be our friend.
How long does it take to be a real friend with someone? For God it is plain and clear, He chooses to be our friend as soon as we except Him into our hearts as our Lord and savior. As the great friend God is He is very, very patient with us. We annoy Him but end of the day getting on one another nerves one day and then the next day we are coming back over to hang out. That is what good friendships is based on.
Also as good friends it is everyone's responsibility to take active interest in sharing goals. This is needed to be done accuracy in order to be there to assist our friends in need. Lucky for us God shares is goals with us. They are to spread Love and spread His word, very plain and simple. God is here for us. Unfortunately most just don't see it.

15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.
